Temecula Stretch Therapy
A safe, efficient system of assisted stretching & relaxation techniques improves flexibility & reduces the risk of injury. Our Stretch Therapy is tailored to you and your goals - whether you want to improve your posture, train for a sport, or get rid of the chronic pain caused by muscular imbalances.
What is Stretch Therapy?
Stretch Therapy is far more than just a stretch after a workout - it's a professional solution to pain & stiffness that brings energy back into your days. Experienced therapists guide you through a sequence of assisted stretches and relaxation techniques, providing instruction on how to continue the practice at home and reach your long-term wellness goals.
Depending on your ambitions, choose between a 25-minute or 50-minute Stretch Therapy session. Either way, we recommend trying Stretch Therapy after a massage when the body is already relaxed and receptive. Be sure to come prepared in loose, comfortable clothing.
Whatever your goals, Stretch Therapy can help by:
Increasing flexibility & range of motion
Decreasing risk of injury
Reducing chronic pain
Improving sports performance
Increased Flexibility & Range of Motion
The most common goal for a stretching regimen is to increase flexibility and range of motion. By releasing connective tissue, elongating muscles, and moving joints through their full range of motion, Stretch Therapy quickly increases flexibility and mobility.
Reduced Injury Risk
With increased flexibility and elasticity, stretching can help prevent injury to the muscles and tendons. Dynamic stretching involves active movement through the joint’s range of motion, and is an effective warm-up which reduces the risk of injury.
Spending time in a single position throughout the day has a lasting effect and becomes a part of a body’s “normal” posture. Stretching the shortened muscles returns them back to their natural length and helps maintain proper posture.
Improved Athletic Performance
Stretch therapy aids in sport performance in multiple ways - using the right techniques at the right time matters. From priming the muscles for performance to aiding recovery and reducing soreness, Stretch Therapy helps you step your game up.
Types of Stretch Therapy techniques
Our Stretch Therapy blends passive & active techniques depending on your needs. Your therapist will begin each session by assessing your goals & working with you to determine the practice that will best suit your needs. After your session, you’ll feel more in-tune with your body and have a deeper understanding of what your body needs.
Passive Stretch Therapy:
Passive stretching is performed on a table or a matt with the client completely clothed. As you focus on relaxing and breathing, the therapist will move you through various poses to release tension and restore balance.
Active Stretch Therapy:
Active stretching is geared towards bringing your stretch practice home with you. Your therapist will customize a stretch progression and teach you how to move through your poses, giving you various cues, corrections, and assistance.
